Tuntumaid Saksamaa prog-rock-bände Eloy tuli kokku aastal 1969 ning sai oma nime H.G. Wellsi “Ajamasinast” tuttava kauge tuleviku inimrassi järgi. Eloy loominguliseks eripäraks on tugevad mõjutused nii space-rockist (eriti just 1970. aastate loomingus) ning sümfoonilisest rockist. 1976. aastal ilmunud “Dawn” kuulub ELOY loomingu paremikku.
